I am skipping Ruth, because your mother really wants to read it to you all. So I am reading the next book, 1st Samuel. This book is action packed, historical, recounts some of the most famous battle scenes in the bible, and is constantly being taught incorrectly. There are so many subtleties in this book that are missed and I hope to bring them to light to you all. The chapters I read for this podcast describe the prophet Eli who has evil children who blasphemed God. Eli didn't really do anything about that except to chastise his sons a few times. If a parent is not willing to discipline their children, then God will. The Israelites lose the Ark of God in chapter 4, and I go into detail as to why that happened.
